Sanity Space - Advent Tree - PART 4

Welcome to week four ...the final installment of our Advent Tree bauble hunt! This week we  will build up and finish the last few ornaments for our project. Today I will be sharing with you the remaining 6 scriptures and decorations for your tree that depict the many varied names and roles of Christ. Hopefully that will mean you will still have plenty of time to finish searching (or making) in good enough time to start your advent on December 1st!
If you have been following this blog series you will know that there are 25 decorations in total ....with the last one getting opened and hung on the tree on Christmas day. Please Feel free to change the scriptures and even change the decorations to something that resonates with you and reminds you of the the real message of Christmas.  If you haven't already seen the previous posts throughout November it may be a good idea to check out WEEK 1, WEEK 2 and WEEK 3 for the rest of the scriptures and decorations after seeing days 20 - 25  in this post.

Day 20 Son of Man

But whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:26 - 28)

Ornament :  A COIN ( with a hole)

I like this holey coin and the hole provides the ideal way  for it to be hung from the tree.

Day 21 The great I AM

LISTEN to the voice of Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, the  Great I AM, whose arm of mercy hath atoned for your sins; Who will gather his people even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, even as many as will hearken to my voice and humble themselves before me, and call upon me in mighty prayer. (D&C 29:1 - 2)

Ornament: HEN

Day 22  Bread of Life
And Jesus said unto them, I am the Bread of Life : he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. (John 6:35)

Ornament: GINGER BREAD CUTTER

What better  way to depict "bread" than a "gingerbread" cutter!

Day 23 Only Begotten Son

For God so loved the world, that he gave his Only Begotten Son , that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Ornament: LOVE

Day 24 Son of Blessed

Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. (Mark 14:61 - 62)

Ornament: GLASS BAUBLE WITH PICTURE OF THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

For this ornament you can use a clear glass bauble and cut out a picture of Christ's second coming....It is best to print on a card stock rather than paper... but it needs to be able to roll up so that it can  be easily inserted in to the bauble. Spread the picture out with chop sticks... or equivalent!

Day 25 Saviour
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a SAVIOUR, Which is CHRIST the LORD (Luke 2:11)

ORNAMENT.... SIGN WITH "LOVE WAS BORN ON CHRISTMAS MORN"

I Really struggled to find an ornament that I liked that depicted "Saviour"...  (and ended up using the one above as a last resort), So I am on the hunt, for a better one this year! If I  find one that I like I'll update you with what I have found for day 25 in a post closer to Christmas

My favourite ornament from this weeks batch has to be the ginger bread cutter... it was an easy find (I had one already in my cupboard!)  and everyone loves the taste, the smell and the fun shapes of gingerbread at Christmas. However, it reminds me that Christ nourishes and feeds us not only at this time of year but on a daily basis.  The request for "daily bread" in the Lords prayer suggests a need for spiritual nourishment that we can find as we feast upon the scriptures and listen for the gentle promptings of the spirit every day.

There is just over one week left until December rolls in and  we can all start to put up our decorations (I have the box out ready and waiting already!) I would love to find out what has been your favourite ornament  out of the 25  that have been posted ...and why? And I invite you to join me on Henibean's Facebook page to show everyone what baubles you have chosen for your AdventTree.

Until next time

Jx

  1. I enjoyed your advent tree and the special ornaments to match our Savior Jesus. Your creations are clever and my favorite is the last one with the awesome saying. "Love was born on Christmas Morn." Truly He is all of the names you mentioned and He was born, died, rose from the dead and lives ever more. Yes one of these days, He shall return to catch away His bride, but until then, and best of all he lives within my heart. Thank you for sharing with us here at Tell me a Story.
