About Me

Clogs in the shape of a heart

🌿 Welcome — I’m Jade

I’m a physiotherapist, grief educator, pain specialist, wild swimmer, traveler, and mum navigating life with a full heart and an open wound. (I also like taking pictures of hearts!)

I started Henibean as a quiet place to reflect and stay grounded during challenging times. It was born from a desire to help others maintain health, sanity, creativity and balance through life’s adversities. But when my daughter died, this space took on deeper meaning—it became a lifeline, a place for me to write, to breathe, and to slowly, painfully, find a new rhythm.

šŸ’” Grief Changed Everything — and Deepened My Purpose

Grief cracks you open. It reshapes your world in ways you never expected. Through that raw and painful experience, I began to weave together the many threads of my personal and professional life—my background in physiotherapy, naturopathy, functional health, nutrition, psychology, and my ongoing studies in neuroscience and mental health - together wtih my love of creativity and nature.

Healing rarely happens in a straight line. It’s wild and unpredictable—more like a landscape than a path, with valleys and peaks, stillness and storms. It doesn’t ask us to fix or force, but to soften, adapt, and begin again. Like a tulip in early spring, we start from a place of quiet stillness, waiting for the warmth to help us grow. It invites us to trade control for curiosity, to create new meaning from what’s been lost, and to let others walk beside us when we can’t carry the weight alone.

It takes patience—and the quiet courage to keep moving forward, allowing ourselves to be reshaped by time, even when we don’t yet understand the form. Slowly, we begin to bloom, unfurling petal by petal, until we find ourselves standing tall, brighter, and more whole than before.

🧠 What I Offer

I combine evidence-based practices with real-life experience. My work draws from:

  • Psychologically informed physiotherapy

  • Grief education & trauma-sensitive care

  • ACT, CBT, and nervous system regulation

  • Functional nutrition & lifestyle medicine

  • A deep respect for the body’s wisdom and the mind’s complexity

You’ll find all of that infused into this blog, whether I’m reviewing a wellness retreat, exploring the science of pain, or writing about a moment of clarity in a cold, wild swim - or just posting pictures of tulips to fulfill a creative need.
