Out and about with Heni @ The Stockwood Discovery Centre

To go on an outing with Heni, there are a multitude of factors that all have to intersect at the same time...
...a few of them being ...
...she has to be healthy and feeling well.... the weather has to be reasonable... we have to have a free day... we have to have the energy and motivation to get everyone organised... AND we need to have somewhere accessible to go that will be of interest.

Eating out with food intolerances - Webbe's at the fish cafe in RYE

On our family trip to East Sussex (south coast of England) this summer we spent one of our days looking around the gorgeous little town of Rye  which was located only a few miles away from our holiday accommodation. As we looked around we were lucky to find a place that catered for our food intolerance needs and so we celebrated Hubby's birthday meal at "Webbe's at the fish cafe". Seeing as THIS IS an "Eating out with food intolerances" post, I will tell  you more about our experience there ....but first let me give you a taste of.....pretty little Rye town.

Making Memories and Traditions... At The Beach - Messages on Pebbles

I know that I haven't finished writing up the posts on Malta yet (a break we took a few months back) ... but I wanted to tell you about this fun day that we experienced about a week ago when we were on holiday as a family in Rye.

One of the days we took Heni to Winchelsea beach (close to where we were staying).
As we were trudging all the bags, chairs, cool box etc on to the beach I had my eyes down, as I usually do, looking for the perfect heart shaped rock.  All of a sudden I noticed a  number of pebbles with writing on gathered together in a group. I bent down and took a closer look and a smile crossed my face…. There was another kindred spirit on the beach who likes to do  random fun stuff like we do! (In the past we have been known to make little painted prayer rocks and paper weights for the kids and other friends... and last year when we were on holiday in Cornwall...we had also done some drawing and writing on pebbles and left them behind for someone to find. It was a nice reminder for me of how much fun we had  that day and how the time seemed to whiz by as we churned the pebbles out of the "beach factory" and dotted them in strategic places everywhere…

We quickly set up camp....

Sanity Space- Project Beach Combing- Making Your Own Mini Beach memory jar!

For a while now I have been thinking of having guests contribute to the blog, to add a new dimension to Henibean... and seeing as I haven't done a "Sanity Space" project for a while I have asked a friend of mine to do one instead. Rebecca writes her own blog called Roses and Rolltops (http://www.rosesandrolltops.co.uk) and it's "full of of interior inspiration, floral love, weddings, travel and food ❤". She has some amazing project on there and so today she is going to share with you a really cool idea which links in very nicely with  the "Making memories and traditions" posts I've previously put up.http://henibean.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/making-memories-and-traditions-no-1.html
So without further waffle I will hand you over to the very capable Rebecca to tell you all about it.

A couple of Easter's ago, my family, Ben and I went to Florida for nearly three weeks and had the best time ever. The beaches are so beautiful out there and you can find some real gems. Today I wanted to talk about making memory jars from some of the shells and amazing sand dollars we found there. Beach-combing is like a national sport in Florida where people come from all over the world for it's shells. We visited for the sunshine but the shells were a bonus and we've used some of the ones we bought home in this project ...  it makes me think back on the memories from that amazing holiday.
