Walking with Wheelchairs - Stanborough Lakes

Today was one of those days when you have a double booking! (I had a triple booking actually, as I was supposed to go run with a friend!)
Heni had been given the opportunity to go on a trip (from college) with all of her pals.... but we had also been sent a wheelchair clinic appointment to attend.
Dilemma....Which to chose?!
The temptation was to drop the clinic..... but over the last few months she hasn't been sitting quite as well in her chair so duty and necessity got the better of us and we felt obliged to attend the clinic. We traveled up to to Welwyn Garden City (about 40 minutes journey away), attended the appointment, and 10- 15 minutes later....after a few turns of a spanner and some minor adjustments to her chair, we were sent on our way.

The wheelchair clinic complete with bluebells!
We thought it was a shame that Heni should miss out on her trip and seeing as we now had the rest of the morning off college we decided to go on our own little adventure with her.

Walking off your worries

Walking in the Chess Valley

Today I want to talk a little bit about something I do A LOT!
I've always been a runner (and I hope to be running in to my old age)... but running is NOT what I want to share with you right now. As much as I love running, In recent years I've cut right down on the amount that I do in favour of walking. Something I've done a lot of this week in the LAKES.

One of the reasons has to do with the total amount of stress I can or cannot handle.

Vitamin D soaking.

Today's sky from the lounger...
This morning spring arrived! (written 24 March) The sky is blue and the sun is out and the white fluffy clouds are floating in the sky. A nice change form England's usual grey.
So today I moved outside and did my stretches and morning workout on the patio to make the most of it. I only managed 15 minutes but that’s better than nothing huh?
Sunshine. I just love the sunshine. Don’t we all?
I think It’s instinctual for us to want to soak up the warmth of the rays and basque in pure light.   Rightly so. Sunshine provides us with our daily dose of vitamin D which is so important for our immune function and overall health.

Today Heni also decided to throw a “sickie”. Its strange to me how she instinctively knows when a school/college holiday is around the corner and ends up being ill and having an extra week or more off at home. Every single holiday seems to be the same. With Easter approaching, I have been holding my breath hoping that I can be proven wrong.  Not so.
